Q) Child Hobblers – how many is too many?

A) 500 is the biggest school group we have booked to date, so numbers are not an issue. However, we will always insist that there is a minimum of 1 adult for every 5 children.

Q) What is the minimum number of Child Hobblers needed to qualify for the school/group rate?

A) If you have a very small school or only want to treat a very select number of pupils, then 15 is the minimum and all bookings need to be made beforehand. You can complete a booking form here

Q) What happens if one member of our group can’t come?

A) Hobblers are not unreasonable people, so if there is a genuine issue we will do our very best to accommodate any changes. However, tickets cannot be refunded but can be changed to an alternative date.

Q) When can we arrive?

A) We open from 10am on weekdays and 9am on weekends.

Q) How long can we stay?

A) We close at 6pm Monday to Thursday and at 8pm on Fridays. Teachers – if you manage that long we will give you a special medal.

Q) Where can we put all our stuff?

A) We have large and small hobble-holes at the entrance where bits and bobs can be locked away. However, coaches will be parked quite close to the entrance so bags can be left on board. (Teachers may leave the park to collect them.)

Q) Coaches – can we park them?

A) Yes! We love coaches but just 5 at any one time. Therefore, please make sure you pre-book your coach so that we can allocate it a space.

Q) Coach drivers – what’s there for me?

A) We don’t think its fair that the coach driver has to sit in his coach while everyone else gets to have fun, so each school group booking gets a free ‘coach driver admission ticket’ and a free hot drink on us.

Q) Can we bring our own picnics and Hobblenosh?

A) Of course. We have numerous picnic areas and we even have cover for school groups just in case it rains. We do provide picnic lunches for groups so please remember to request these at the time of booking.

Q) Can you help with our risk assessment?

A) We have a risk assessment and guidelines that can be used. Please email thehobblers@hobbledown.com for a copy.

Q) As a teacher, can I come and visit before our trip to help us prepare for our mysterical day?

A) Of course you can. Once you have pre-booked and paid, you can arrange to come on a free site visit. We offer two free tickets so you and a colleague can come and prepare for your trip, making sure all the Hobblers in your group have the best time ever!

Q) Is there a shop where children can buy souvenirs and gifts?

A) We have the very exciting MERRYMAKERS shop within Hobbledown where there are lots of fabulous souvenirs that can be purchased. Our shop is not big so can we please ask that you visit in small groups and that all children are supervised.

Q) What happens if we lose a Hobbler?

A) We recommend prior to your visit that you inform all children of the procedure if they get lost. We suggest that the Courtyard by the Hobblings Play Barn be designated as your meeting point and that all children be directed there if they become separated from the group. Also, children can approach any member of staff, clearly identified by their badge or those in costume, for help. Upon arrival, we require schools to leave their completed school information form with the ticket office so we are able to get in contact with the visiting teachers in case of an emergency. We also provide ‘If lost’ wrist bands, which help us reunite any wondering children with their carers.
