The animals came in two by two - hoorah!

;

It wouldn’t be a zoo without animals - and we’ve moved in almost all of our new residents!

Representing the Scots are our cows, the Highlands of Hobbledown, who were first to arrive on site.

This rustic breed of cattle originated in the Scottish Highlands and the Outer Hebrides and is known for its long horns and long shaggy coat.

Some of Hobbledown Heath's other exciting inhabitants include:

  • Giant Tortoises
  • Macaw Parrots
  • Capybaras
  • Giant Rabbits
  • Goats
  • Ponies and Miniature Horses
  • Reindeer
  • Meerkats

Coda Falconry has also moved into its new aviaries in our Birds of Prey centre, and the birds are settling in well. We are delighted to be working with this award winning falconry centre, which is home to a beautiful array of raptors. You'll be able to view hawks, buzzards, owls, falcons, and even our social media star, Loki the Raven

Among the next to join the family here at Hobbledown Heath will be our Ring Tailed Lemurs, recently named Lionel, Margaret and Makira by our followers in a social media competition.

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages @hobbledownheath for updates on our animals, and to see who else will be joining the gang next...

Watch Loki the raven take his first flight around Hobbledown...
