Fed up with the school holidays already? Don’t be ‘melon’choly! Join us for Watermelon Weekend on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August 2017.

Activities throughout the day will include fun games such as Watermelon Bowling and Watermelon Smashing, an eating competition, and a chance to show off your carving skills to be in with a chance of winning a top prize.

Prizes on offer include a family ticket to Wildflowers (our festival of sound and colour on September 9th 2017) for 2 adults and 2 children, Zookeeper for the Day experience and a child’s Annual Pass.

You can also grow your own watermelon, and for the little ones our Watermelon themed Creation Station will be open too.

Activities will take place between 10.30am and 3.30pm.

Admission costs £16 for adults, £17 for children and £10.50 for over 65s. Children under 2 are free.

Hobbledown offers a reduced admission rate after 3pm but the key events take place prior to this. The after 3pm rate includes the standard Hobbledown experience.

  • August 5th and 6th are blackout dates for Hobbledown Annual Passholders. But for just £2.50 passholders can upgrade and enjoy all of Watermelon Weekend.
