Enjoy a hands-on animal encounter just outside London. Suitable for ages 6+, this keeper-led experience lets you enter the enclosure, feed these curious animals and learn more about how we care for them. With park entry included, it’s a memorable addition to your day out in Surrey.

What you need to know:

Join our zookeepers in the meerkat enclosure, where you will learn all about these fantastic creatures, and feed them some tasty, wriggly snacks!

Duration: 15–20 minutes

(+£2.50 booking fee per transaction)

Capacity: Max 2 participants per timeslot

Time: Daily at 15:30 (excluding Wednesdays)

Please note: Accompanying guests may watch from outside the enclosure. The meerkats are often fed live food such as mealworms.

  • Disclaimers must be read and signed prior to the experience.
  • Max 2 people per time slot for Meerkat Experiences
  • Spectators will not be able to accompany the person undertaking the experience into the enclosure itself, but will be able to view them from the external area of the enclosure.
  • Anyone entering Hobbledown must have a ticket. If you are accompanying someone doing an animal experience but are not participating, you must still hold your own general admission ticket
  • Please note these animals are sometimes fed live food such as mealworms
  • Booking on the day subject to availability. Please book at reception. Must be booked 30 mins prior to the experience.
  • Whilst every effort is made to accommodate everyone, due to the nature of the experience unfortunately at the present time the experience is not suitable for pregnant guests, mothers who are nursing, or guests with immunosuppressant illnesses. This experience may not be suitable for disabilities which impact on motor skills, mobility, or severe learning difficulties.  Please contact us to discuss your individual needs.
  • This experience may not be private to your booking; if spaces are available, other participants may join.
  • Free carers do not participate in the experience. Anyone wanting to participate in the experience will need their own experience ticket.
