Your capybara experience lasts around 15–20 minutes and is led by our expert animal team - the same keepers who care for the capybara family every single day.

You'll pull on your wellies, step inside the enclosure, and hand-feed these gentle giants with leaves, cos lettuce or other approved treats. Your keeper will share fascinating facts about capybara behaviour, habitat and history - and there'll be plenty of time for photos. Selfies are 100% approved.

It's relaxed. It's joyful. And it's completely unlike any other animal experience near London.

It's even better - our experience puts you inside the enclosure with a dedicated keeper. It's hands-on, personal, and limited to just 4 guests per session.

Experience Terms and Conditions

  • Disclaimers must be read and signed prior to the experience.
  • Max 4 guests per timeslot for Feed the Capybaras
  • Hobbledown Heath day entry is included
  • Anyone entering Hobbledown must have a ticket. If you are accompanying someone doing an animal experience but are not participating, you must still hold your own general admission ticket
  • Participants will be provided Nitrile gloves and will be required to wash their hands following the experience
  • Free carers do not participate in the experience. Anyone wanting to participate in the experience will need their own experience ticket.
  • Whilst every effort is made to accommodate everyone, due to the nature of the experience unfortunately at the present time the experience is not suitable for pregnant guests, mothers who are nursing, or guests with immunosuppressant illnesses. This experience may not be suitable for disabilities which impact on motor skills, mobility, or severe learning difficulties.  Please contact us to discuss your individual needs.
  • This experience may not be private to your booking; if spaces are available, other participants may join.
