This hands-on feeding experience allows you to enter the enclosure, offer treats under keeper supervision, and learn more about these gentle, semi-aquatic animals. Step inside the capybara enclosure with one of our animal team members, learn how to feed them safely, and enjoy a Q&A with their keepers. Branches, lettuce, and other treats provided!

Don't forget: Please wear shoes that can get muddy. Bring your camera for amazing photos!

Feed the Capybaras FAQs

Participants enter the capybara enclosure with our trained animal team, offer approved treats, learn about their behaviour and habitat, and enjoy close-up interaction in a safe, structured session.

The experience is suitable for ages 6 years and above. Participants must be able to follow keeper instructions to ensure safety and animal welfare.

The session lasts approximately 15–20 minutes. Exact timings are confirmed at booking.

Yes. All sessions are supervised by professional animal care staff and follow strict safety protocols.

Yes. The experience includes park entry for the participant.

Yes. Feed the Capybaras is a popular gift for animal lovers and families looking for a unique wildlife experience. This experience makes a popular birthday gift, Christmas present or special treat. Gift vouchers are available and can be redeemed against available time slots.

Capybara Experience Terms and Conditions

  • Disclaimers must be read and signed prior to the experience.
  • Max 4 guests per timeslot for Feed the Capybaras
  • Hobbledown day entry is included
  • Anyone entering Hobbledown must have a ticket. If you are accompanying someone doing an animal experience but are not participating, you must still hold your own general admission ticket
  • Participants will be provided Nitrile gloves and will be required to wash their hands following the experience
  • Whilst every effort is made to accommodate everyone, due to the nature of the experience unfortunately at the present time the experience is not suitable for pregnant guests, mothers who are nursing, or guests with immunosuppressant illnesses. This experience may not be suitable for disabilities which impact on motor skills, mobility, or severe learning difficulties.  Please contact us to discuss your individual needs.
  • This experience may not be private to your booking; if spaces are available, other participants may join.
  • Free carers do not participate in the experience. Anyone wanting to participate in the experience will need their own experience ticket.
